“Dear Slater,
My guild and I are gearing up to raid again, and we’re starting to actively recruit. One of our officers just updated the tabard for us as well and it looks fantastic! I want to show it off on our guild site, but I’m not entirely sure how to – can you help?”
Tibbles,
Indeed I can!
You can do this in an HTML widget, but that can be a little complex. Fortunately, there’s an easier way to get it done: the Guild Tabard widget!
There are a couple steps you will need to take to get it displaying on your site:
Step One: Finding the Image
For WoW tabards, you will need to go to your guild’s page on Battle.net – there is a search bar at the top right of the site you can use to find your guild. Once there, your tabard will be at the top right of the site. It looks something like this:
Right-click the image and choose ‘Save Image As’. Save it as ‘tabard.png’ – by default it is named something different, but it needs to be named ‘tabard.png’ to link to the Guild Tabard widget.
Step Two: Uploading the Image
From here, you need to upload the image to the File Library. When uploading, make sure you are in the File Library, not the Image Gallery. There is a link at the far left on the ‘Gallery’ tab of your site to get there:
Scroll down to the bottom of the file library and upload the image. Once you’ve done that, there’s just one more step!
Step Three: Adding the Widget
After you’ve uploaded the image, go back to the main page of your site. Click the ‘Widgets’ link at the top right to go into ‘Widgets’ mode.
Add the ‘Guild Tabard’ widget to the column you’d like it to display in and you’re done! The image will automatically link to the widget and display on your Guild Launch site.
If you have a specific question you think would be perfect for these articles, send us the request at support@guildlaunch.com and Slater will personally review it and – after answering the ticket so you have the answer – potentially post it here with your username and guild site. If you would rather not have your username and site posted, Tibbles will ask the question on your behalf for Slater to answer.
